Debutants of the “Battle of the Nations”: impressions

22 May 2018 19:28
Sweden took part in the World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations” for the first time. Jonas Balkefors – the captain of the Sweden National Team told that it was so much more than expected. Even though he has been in steel fighting for four years and been doing martial arts the most part of his life. His team also has great impressions after the tournament and fights with the strongest HMB athletes of the world.

Jonas Balkefors:
“Overall it was great to meet such a high level of fighting having the fantastic opportunity to meet teams “Ukraine-1″ in “5 vs 5″ and Russia in “21 vs 21″. Seeing the new style of profights and the high level in the singles categories both male and female were truly inspiring as well”.

Also Jonas mentioned that his team felt the special atmosphere of friendship on the “Battle of the Nations”.

“The good feeling you get from walking around the camp with fellow fighters from all over the world was really nice and an important factor of wanting to come back to future championships. We really want to come here again”.

Sweden captain told that there are few problems for HMB athletes in his country. According to Jonas, their teams are separated all over the country. Sometimes fighters have to travel for about seven hours to get to the next local team, or minimum 12 hours travel to the next experienced team in the neighboring country. But still they have a great desire to fight and improve their skills. We are sure that the athletes will find a lot of opportunities to have team trainings and workshops. Also we hope that the National team of Sweden will come to the World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations”-2019 and we will see interesting fights of this team.
