HMB vs Covid19: Israel does not give up

07 Oct 2020 17:26

A new surge in Covid 19 virus cases in Israel has led to the closure of the country’s borders and massive quarantine measures. It is reported that it has been going on for half a month, and will last at least another week. According to Mikhail Morgulis, captain of the HMB Israel team, there are suggestions that the quarantine will last much longer.

Almost all residents of the country should stay at home in quarantine, except those who have official permission to continue working. This includes mainly doctors, construction workers, police officers and people involved in the food trade. Unfortunately, sport in the country also suffered from this quarantine. All gyms and sports clubs are closed.

However, there are no barriers for HMB in this country! Our athletes continue to keep fit in all possible ways permitted in the country and do not plan to despond.

Right now we can only train online. Such training, of course, is not as effective as in the gym or on the lists. They do not help much, but this is no reason to stop”, said Mikhail. Also he added that this is a great opportunity to spend time learning and analysing videos of other competitions.

Lockdown especially upsets HMB athletes in the country because of the ban on organizing and holding tournaments inside the country and significantly complicates the team selection process for Battle of the Nations 2021.

We hope that this quarantine will not last long and we will hear about new HMB tournaments in Israel before the end of this difficult 2020.

HMBIA News reminds all members of the HMB movement in the world about the need to take care of themselves and their loved ones, closely monitor their health and promptly seek medical help as and when necessary.
