“Kening Striid”: very first Bohurt Tournament in the Netherlands

19-20 August Tytsjerk held the very first Bohurt Tournament in the Netherlands “Kening Striid”. It was a great start. The tournament became international from the begining and it is a tough news! Many categories, many participants, good prizes! But let`s speak about it in details. HMBIA News had an interview with Esther Veldstra – member of orgteam of the event. So we a ready to inform you!
 
Esther Veldstra:
“We offered “5vs5″, women “3vs3″, and duels “Longsword”, “Sword and Buckler” and “Sword and Shield”. The Tournament was a great succes with 8 teams and fighters from 7 countries. UK, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands. And fighters from Italy, France and Poland came too. The level of fighting was high.”
 
The results of tournament are interesting as well.

The winners of the 5v5 Bohurt Category:

1. “White Company” (UK)
2. UK fed 1
3. “Det Frie Kompagni” (Denmark)

Lukas Kowal from UK showed imazing fights and won gold in all duel categories for men. “Sisterhood” from Denmark took gold in 3v3. “White Company” from UK took most of the medals home.
 
One more good news is that “Kening Striid” got a new star! Esther told our journalist about their new talanted fighter.

Esther Veldstra:
“A big surprise was gold in women’s sword and shield for Denise Scheltinga (Netherlands). It was her first Tournament. She is a very talented New fighter who will Surely come to the HMB World Championship “Battle of the Nations”-2018.”
 

Orgteam of the “Kening Striid” glad that all that job that they did brought such a great results and of course they want to make this event traditional.

Esther Veldstra:
“This time our sponsors brought lovely prizes. And inspired with “Kening Striid”-2017 we are sure that the event will return in 2018 on 17-18-19 August. Many teams have already announced their return. We sure hope to have started something great.”
